I am using a DE2 , and I am trying to show RGB test pattern generator on the VGA. I am using vip to genereate the colour bars, but i have not benn able to fully understand the way VCO works. Can I use it to pilot the VGA output, or I need first a frame buffer or something similar? I've read all the datasheets i could, but i haven't been able to find an answer.

http://www.alteraforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29708 I have currently downloaded quartus 10sp1, dont have a problem with sopc builder but my compilation hangs at 1% and analysis at 4% Is there anything in particular that i require in my license, for it to compile. If you could look at the link to the post i have sent, you will get an idea, as the ip's included in the sopc design generate a .vhd file which says GENERATION:: DEFERRED please help my out im stuck at this point.
