17 years agoI had tried deleting db/* and incremental_db/* very early in the troubleshooting, but it wasn't having any effect.
For some reason Quartus is requiring Administrator permissions on the compile machine. An Altera S.R. is open to see exactly what permissions it requires. Does it really need everything? I doubt this is a _directory_ permissions issue though. My regular account had Full permissions to the C:\Source directories (where my projects reside), but only had Read access to the C:\Altera branch. We opened up the C:\Altera to Full privileges in order to test that theory, but it gave the same error. This appears to have something to do with executable permissions. I'm not a Windows administrative expert, but IT has established that the domain restrictions are not causing it. It is the local machine executable permissions which, as far as we can tell, requires the user to be a member of the "Administrator" group. If someone has a [Windows] "non-Administrator" account compiling, please speak up. I would be interested in hearing about it.
