Stratix-10G FPGA Transceiver Configuration for Ethernet MAC 100G Controller
Hi,
We need to validate our custom built Ethernet MAC 100G controller core on Stratix-10G FPGA. We are planning to use the in-built FPGA transceiver for the PHY functionality.
From the IP catalog, we selected "L-Tile/H-Tile Transceiver Native PHY Stratix 10 IP" and tried to configure for Ethernet MAC 100G. But we couldn't find any preset configuration which supports either 100G or 25G line rate.
Could you pl. suggest what preset configuration to be used? Pl. note that our Ethernet MAC 100G controller core supports 256-bit data path.
Thanks,
Sunil

Hello Sunil Kumar,
I would suggest you to start with E-Tile Transceiver PHY. This has 100G protocol supported.

Hi Pavee,
Sorry for replying late. We tried using the E-Tile Transceiver PHY as you suggested. Under preset configurations, we could see the following.
PMA Direct Bonded 8 channels NRZ 28Gbps DW
PMA Direct Bonded 8 channels PAM4 56 Gbps DW
PMA Direct Dual Channel PAM4 56Gbps DW
PMA Direct Bonded 8 channels PAM4 56 Gbps DW
We are not sure which one to select. We selected the default one PMA Direct Bonded 8 channels NRZ 28Gbps DW and proceeded. We have captured the complete transceiver settings in the attached doc. Could you pl. check and let us know if this fine? Thanks,
Sunil
