SPI synchronous read and write possible?

Hi there,

in my Quartus/NIOS-SBT 9.1SP2 the Altera SPI driver can only read _or_ write (or write _after_ read).

Is the a reason why Altera took efforts to implement it that way?

Because it would have been easier to just write/read synchronously and leave asynchronous ones to the implementor :confused: ...

Is there a newer version where I can read and write at the same time?

(I'm just asking this before I start touching the altera driver and correcting this).
