pcie_hard_ip_1_pcie_bfm_0 does not support selected device family Cyclone IV GX

We ported a project we were developing in 13.1 to 14.0 and receive this error message whenever we attempt to generate a testbench (simple or advanced). We were able to use the testbench feature in 13.1. Everything else seems to be ok in regards to the work flow including synthesis and bitstream generation.

Was testbench support for this chip removed in 14.0?

    Hi,

    I'm sorry to say that this is a known issue, advice from Altera is to use v13.1.

    Thanks for looking into it. Yes that is what Altera seems to have just told me as well. We had ported the project up to a newer version as we where experiencing another issue with generate statements but were still experiencing the same issue with the new version so porting back down isn't that big of a deal.

    So far, this Cyclone IV GX PCIe testbench generation issue happens in Quartus II 14.0, 14.1 and 15.0.
