NIOS II without UART port

Hello all ,

How do the user communicate with the NIOS board during bring up without serial port.. Is Byte blaster or USB blaster sufficient to communicate with the board through NIOS Command shell promt (NIOS IDE)? Or should we use the JTAG to UART peripheral (with NIOS II) for the host PC to communicate with the board?

    If you have a Jtag Uart component in your Sopc system, you can use it to communicate with the Nios through the IDE.
