IP for high-speed real time communication

Hi,

I would appreciate if someone can guide me to an appropriate communication protocol IP capable of high-speed real-time communication. Basically I am looking for streaming data back to any kind of storage at Gb rate, with ns-scale latency. I have looked at industrial protocols, such as PROFINET, but they seem more suitable for control than data applications.
