FIR Compiler - Output Number System?

Thanks Kaz for replying.

I added up my coeffients and the sum is 1.00144718. Using your equation, I only need 12 bits. So, do I only keep the lower 12 bits? I've never designed a FIR filter before so I have lot's of questions. What about the LSBs?
