DSP builder/Vhdl suggestion

Hi.. i have daughtercard tvp5146, its output is 8bit in YCbCr 4:2:2 formate. i want black & white image at VGA output, thats why i have to zero the Cb and Cr part in YCbCr. i want only Y compo...

Like I said, if Y is only 4 bits, you can make it 4 bits by appending 4 zeros to it. It will not enhance it in any way unless you do some digital processing.
