Sorry, didn't read everything.

Back to the An 380. You will probably have to ajdust the write clock. It has been a while since I did that, but you open the PLL from the megawiz instead of sopc. Then you don't have to recompile the sopc.

There is an appnote for that to, AN328. Its for stratix but the concept is the same.

It is a BIG appnote.....

Please tell me if it works.

We still have several operative designs with DDR2 / C3. Launching a new product next month based on a proven design.

As for OS, I think we use OpenSuse.
