my development board don`t have the epcs* ,noly have a cpld, now i don`t understand how to configure the FPGA with the file of *.pof ? when the board get the power, FPGA can run the initial *pof file,where the *pof file store in ? i am a learner,this prolem have troubled me for a long time ,please help me !!thanks!

An FPGA needs an external configuration memory if you want its configuration to survive a power loss, whereas a CPLD keeps its configuration without an external memory.Honored Contributorhello Daixiwen,
my board is Altera Cyclone III EP3C120F780c7development kit.The memory on the board only have SRAM,FLASH,DDR2.I don`t see EPCS* on board,so i don`t know what is the external configuration memory for this development kit. I am a new learner,can`t think it out.need your help.thx!Honored ContributorThere isn't any EPCS on that board. The FPGA configuration should be stored in the parallel flash instead. If you have a look at the kit documentation, you'll find information on how and where to flash it.
The Max II CPLD is just here for the USB blaster functionality and you don't need to do anything to it.Honored Contributori know it after reading your reply.thanks a lot ,Daixiwen.
