Using Jtag with USB Blaster for providing Application USB connectivity

Hi Folks,

Just a wild idea, I was wondering whether It would be possible to use USB Blaster to provide user level connectivity with the USB host PC. If so what bandwidth do you think I could expect ?

PS : I was thinking about the BeMicro USB board for this.

According to the user manual (I don't have the board, I think it's not offered by european Arrow branches), bemicro board has a RS232 interface connected to the FPGA in addition to JTAG. This is one option. The other option is JTAG UART.

The hardware UART should be able work up to almost full USB bandwidth, respectively 460k or 920k extended standard baud rates. JTAG UART can be expected somewhat slower due to the protocol overhead.
