Unknown file created by modelsim

After running the simulation in modelsim, i realise that there are a lot of files created name like wlf......(format:file) which consume a lot of space. It seems like a waveform file based on the name of the file starts with wlf. When i open to view it using notepad, it is not understandable.

Is this file important? What is the file used for? Can i delete it?

    No, it's not quite important~

    It really is waveform file, not a source file or some important settings, you can delete it if you don't need to keep the simulation result.
