Honored ContributorYou must have an old version of Quartus then, because support for Solaris has been dropped since 8.0 I think.
You can try and follow this guide (http://www.nioswiki.com/@api/deki/files/43/=altera_software_installation_tutorial_for_ubuntu.pdf). According to it, you must ensure that you have tcsh installed and not csh. It could be the cause...
