Programmer Object File"-Format for Altera EPM5032DC-20

Ladies and gentlemen,

We are currently trying to manufacture historical assemblies as spare parts.

We have trouble transferring the programming file for an EPM5032DC-20 that is in the POF-Format into the programming device DATA I/O Unisite.

We want to check the file formally and need a description of the "POF format" .

Can you help us please?

    EPM5032DC-20 is obselete long time ago.. May I know from where did you purchase the device?

      Hi,
      I've never seen an Altera/Intel originated .pof specification. I saw a third-party description, referring to MAX5000 series b.t.w.
      .pof is packing arbitrary programming data, e.g. a flash image into a file with some header, the meaning of binary data isn't defined by .pof spec, I guess. We are e.g. reading Arria 10 GX .pof file by our flash programmer tool. It contains the flash target addresses along with the data.

    Hello,
    Thank you for your answer. We've got approx. 20 years old .POF files that we have successfully produced in the past. We believe that these files have been corrupted by archiving and recopying. Other data formats were missing, for example, the ASCII control characters (STX and ETX).
    We want to formally check the .POF files. We have a rudimentary format description from the DATA I/O Unisite manual, from which unfortunately not all details are revealed. Unclear, for example, is the initial value in the CRC16 checksum formation as well as the structure of the file start from when the first header is expected.
    I read somewhere that Intel is issuing this information in exchange for signing a non-Disclore Agreement.

      We need the Altera POF file specification or description.
      We've heard it's available from Intel for NDA signature.
      Is that so?
