Power Up DE1 Board by using battery

Hi,

De1 Board is usually power up by using a 7.5 DC 0.75A adapter. I need to power up the board by using a battey so that my robot is free to move around. Is it possible to use a 8V 1A voltage regulator instead of the wired adapter.

Thank You

so may i ask that what have you done with to power up the DE1 board. just a regulator? can you hook 7.2v battries straight to the power port.

is there any current limit range for the DE1 board

    thank you

I have seen directly connected batteries in a half dozen configurations. Nothing bad has happened yet.

If it does fail, remember to think about any motor bridges, Flash memory corruption, etc. It will flake out as the battery voltage falls toward the supply limits.
