How to set path system variable?

Hi everyone,

Whenever I start a "new project -> Nios II C/C++ Application", the following message appears on top of the window:

No project template folders found in $SOPC_KIT_NIOS2/examples/software. Please ensure your environment variables are correctly set.

I've created a new system variable (you know: My PC -> Advanced setup -> environment variables), both for my user and as general system variable, but it doesn't work.

By the way: the name of the variable is SOPC_KIT_NIOS2 and its content is

C:\Archivos de programa\altera\90\nios2eds

(Spanish version of Windows XP ;) )

Anyone can help? Thanx in advance!

    Hi,

I'm afraid that's not the problem. I have some others with the same starting directory, e.g.

    Variable: QUARTUS_ROOTDIR

    Value: c:\archivos de programa\altera\90sp2\quartus

I've tried uppercase and lowercase, and that doesn't seem to be the problem. I'va also tried %20% instead of the spaces, but don't succeed neither

    Any help will be appreciated!

    Thanx.

Get rid of the spaces in your path...re-install. They _will_ cause problems and are documented (I believe) as being disallowed.

    Hi,

I did what you told me: I re-installed both the Nios II EDS and the Quartus II software, this time on the default directory (c:\altera). Now everything works just fine.

    Thanks for the advice!

    Regards,
