How do i configure the Stratix II GX from a flash memory ?

do i need a controller for the IF between the two ?

or is there a way for the Stratix to automatically download the code upon power up ?

    To the best of my knowledge, FPGAs do not have dedicated self-download feature ...yet.

    an altera configuration device consists of flash + controller.

    if you use your own flash then you need controller to do the work e.g. cpld or microprocessor.

    i buy Altera Flash that includes the controller,

    or my own flash + controller.
