FPGA Speed Grade
Hi,
We are using EP3C16E144C8N FPGA in our product, we are replacing it with EP3C16E144I7N. But none of the datasheet explains about "7".
C8 is replaced with I7.
C8 is commercial, 8 is not defined, datasheet explains 6 is fastest, is the 8 is more fastest or slowest.
And I7, I is industrial, but not on 7, what it represents fast or slow.
Also what is fast and slow, is that clock speed.
Is there any issue in replacing EP3C16E144C8N with EP3C16E144I7N.

C - Commercial Temperature grade
I - Industrial Temperature grade
6 - Fastest speed grade of the FPGA
7 - Slower than 6
8 - Slowest
Speed grade means that the FPGA with 6 can work at faster clock frequencies than 7 and 8.

Thanks for the details.
Do you suggest EP3C16E144I7N is a replacement for EP3C16E144C8N or any other IC, we dont want have any hardware change and have pin to pin compatibility.

The two parts are pin to pin compatible. No hardware change required.
