FPGA cyclone4 and EPCS16

I am mew to this field.

I am using cyclone 4 FPGA.I want to configure automatically when power up.So i found AS mode with EPCS16 and JTAG.As give on handbook ,i need maximum around 9 MB RAM.So i am using EPCS16.Is it right approch ?

    Hello,

    I did my connection EPCS16 and FPGA and 5*2 connector.

    I did nt use TDI,TDO,TCK,TMS, which is for JTAG...

    I dont understand as i am using JTAG interface and why i dont need this pin connection.I dont have clear picture of serial configuration with 5*2 connector..I found this on EPCS16 data sheet figure 3.2...Please clarify http://www.altera.com/literature/hb/cfg/cyc_c51014.pdf

    You should review Cyclone IV handbook's Figure 8-6 in-system programming of serial configuration devices, Figure 8-22 combining jtag and as configuration schemes and Figure 8-23 programming serial configuration devices in-system using the jtag interface to learn about the different AS configuration options.
