Estimate the power consumption of the MAX 10 device 10M08SLV81I7G

I would like to estimate the power consumption of the MAX 10 device 10M08SLV81I7G using the PowerPlay Early Power Estimator Excel file. However, the part number 10M08SLV81I7G is not listed. In additi...

Hello, EPE for MAX10 is not planned to get updated.

You may use the .csv generated after Quartus compilation then load it into current EPE and you will get the estimate current consumption.

From this point, you can use PDN for MAX10 to calculate the decoupling capacitors.

link for PDN : https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/content-details/652727/power-delivery-network-pdn-tool-2-0-for-max-10-devices.html

MAX10 is not very high temperature device(no transceivers or high speed elements), most of the time, it can be cooled with air flow.

regards,

Farabi

Hello. Thank you for your answer.
I specified the target device on Quartus Prime Standard, used the .csv file generated after compilation, and tried to load it into the current EPE, but it could not be loaded. Please tell me how to resolve this issue.
The error message is as follows.

    Errors Encountered!
Selected value  ‘10M08SL’ couldn’t be found in validation list!
    Filename: helpers.cpp
    Line: 589

    Best regards,

      Hi Hachiware,

We are checking with our internal team on this. Thank you for your patience. Many colleagues were out of office over the year-end and New Year, which caused a delay.

We will update you as soon as we have the status.

      Regards,
      Fakhrul

        Hi Hachiware,

Apologies for the late response. Here is the feedback i recived from the internal team:

10M08SLV81I7G  has the same die as their equivalent sized DC or DF devices, but not the same package definition. (e.g. 10M08DFV81I7G or 10M08DCV81I7G).

The only difference is that VCCD_PLL is connected to VCC_ONE in 10M08SLV81I7G, while the other 2 have VCCD_PLL as a separate pin. For power purposes VCC + VCCD_PLL  those can be combined to create the equivalent  VCC_ONE  in 10M08SLV81I7G.

Furthermore, if you want a design‑accurate number, please use Quartus Prime Power Analyzer after compiling the design.

        Regards,
        Fakhrul
