Error running Agilex 5 LPDDR4 example design simulation

I am trying to run the lpddr4 example design simulation using Questa Intel Starter FPGA Edition-64 2024.3 and running into this error after "source msim_setup.tcl" command.

I am following the steps listed in the example design user guide https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/docs/programmable/817394/25-1/running-simulation.html

Qar project attached. Hope the example design can be extracted.

    Hi,

I regenerate the ED and no longer seen the error. But now running into another issue whereby the questasim will auto closed by itself.

I checked the transcript and this is the last line being captured

    # Running constra
    # SIMSF (ed_sim.emif_io96b_lpddr4_0.emif_io96b_lpddr4_inst.arch_emif_0.arch0_1ch_per_io.arch_0.gen_byte_conns[0].wrapper_byte.gen_used_byte.u_byte): Could not find Quartus installation - missing environment variable QUARTUS_ROOTDIR

This is my PC Environment Variables. I think the QUARTUS_ROOTDIR has already been set correctly.

Can you please help to look into this issue and tell what might went wrong? Appreciate for your support!

    Hello,

Maybe you can add the "%QUARTUS_ROOTDIR%\bin64" to your PATH variable.

Restart your PC then verify in command prompt by typing echo %QUARTUS_ROOTDIR%.

It should show the Quartus installation path.

If you have multiple Quartus version installed in your PC, you may need to add QUARTUS_ROOTDIR_OVERRIDE variable to set as default version.

    Regards,

    Adzim

    Hi,

This is how I setup the variable (added the bin64) but it doesn't works.

In the command prompt, it still pointing to the old Quartus version which has been already uninstalled. Now I only have one quartus installed in my PC.

Is my variable setup incorrect? Can you attach the correct setup for my reference?

    Thank you!

    Hi Azmin,

Per your advice, I added to the "%QUARTUS_ROOTDIR%\bin64" to my PATH variable and restart the computer but still not solving the problem.

Why it always point to older Quartus version which no longer in my computer?

    Hello,

Can you try to add the variables in System variables?

You can add QUARTUS_ROOTDIR_OVERRIDE too in this case.

    Regards,

    Adzim

    Hello,

Did you manage to add the variable just what I mention in my previous comment?

    Hi Adzim,

Above steps didn't solve the problem. At the end, I managed to overcome the issue by editing the Registry Editor via regedit.

    Thanks.
