You haven't mentioned what error is shown by QUARTUSII.

    Have you tried the following?

    1. Assignments>Device>Device and Pin options> Configuration

select configuration scheme as active serial

    2. Assignments>Device>Device and Pin options> unused pins as input tri-stated

    3. In the programmer select mode as JTAG

    4. And the file to select is .sof and not .pof

    Hi,

This error happens when QUARTUSII can't detect the device for programming.

    possible reasons

    1. If u r using more than one device for programming and QUARTUSII detects some mismatch in no: of devices.

    2.JTAG server is not running.

    3.May be u r system requires driver for USB-blaster.

In the programmer if you click hardware setup in hardware settings are u able to see currently selected hardware as USB blaster

The most easy way to see, if the Quartus programmer is actually accessing the USB Blaster is to watch the blue LED.

If USB Blaster is accessed, but can't scan the device chain, there's most likely a hardware issue with the board. The Quartus Programmer has debugging functions to trace the JTAG signals in this case.
