Connection error

Dear all,

When I tried to update, there is an error:

Can’t connect to the Altera web site to check for updates – check your internet connection and/or browser settings.

Had check for the internet connectivity -> web browser -> ok.

Firewall had exception of quartus.exe, does anyone know the port number used and the protocol(either TCP or UDP) when the programs checks for updates?

    Problem solved. I normally use Firefox but I brought up Internet Explorer and went to tools->Internet Options->Connections->Lan settings and found the proxy server enabled. Unchecking this item made everything work. Firefox was written cleverly enough to ignore IE's settings. J
