Configuration Problems

Hi There,

I am having a bit of a problem configuration one of the Altera Devices – it’s the EP3C40F484C6N

We are using the EPCS64 serial config device

The problem we are seeing seems to be intermittent when only at Power Up.

When at Power Up the Altera Device is not configured properly – the following Pins are as follows;

Config Done (FPGA) – Low

nStatus (FPGA) – Low

nConfig (FPGA) – High

According to the configuration handbook when there is a Configuration Error - the nStatus is low and the Config_Done is low then the nStatus is released after a reset time out period (maximum of 230us) if the Auto-restart configuration is selected, in our case it is selected.

The nStatus pin is remaining low all the time and is not restarting – hence we are unable to re-configure the device

We have Config Done, nStatus, nConfig all externally Pulled Up to 10K

We are using the Fast POR which are selected by the MSEL pins

Can you help me out here??
