Active serial configuration using MT25QL01G device

I have a Cyclone-V design that I've been successfully configuring using a 1 Gbit Micron N25Q flash chip. That flash chip is now obsolete, so we built some boards using the newer MT25QL01G chip from Micron. So far I've been unable to get the FPGA to configure using this device.

I see that the 'convert programming files' utility in Quartus 18.0 supports the MT25QL devices up to 512Mbit, but doesn't have an option for the 1Gbit device. Does anyone know how to get the FPGA to load from the larger part?

OK, I just downloaded and installed Quartus 18.01 and now see an option for the MT25QL01G device in the 'convert programming files' tool. Haven't tried it yet, but will try to remember to post back my success or failure in case anyone else runs into this issue.

    Hi SGlow,

Yes, please use Quartus Prime v18.1 as the MT25QL01G flash device selection is already available in the Convert Programming File tools. The AS configuration should work with the MT25Q as these flash devices has been validated.
