Arria II GX (EP2AGX260) - Linux Kit Installation?

Sirs,

I recently got an Arria II EP2AGX260 GX dev kit. So I have installed Quartus and related tools on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, and everything is fine. However, I am not able to locate a Kit Installation for Linux. There is only a link to exe file (ftp://ftp.altera.com/outgoing/devkit/11.1/arriaiigx_2agx260_fpga_v11.1.0.exe) available at http://www.altera.com/products/devkits/altera/kit-arria-ii-gx-6-gbps.html.

Is there a way to get the kit files, at least, for Linux to use as kick-start reference?

    You could run the executable on windows and then copy the files over to your linux installation. The .exe just extracts all the files on a folder on the Windows machine and creates links in the Start menu.

    Thanks for the response! Yeah, I thought about the same thing and even tried to run that installation in wine (http://www.winehq.org/), and extract files from the executable. But that didn't work out well. Luckily, I have found a Windows 7 installation in my stash and was able to get everything up and running in Virtual Box, including Kit programs and Quartus II. As a matter of fact, GUI tools in Linux are nearly useless. For example, Pin Planner is just a waste of time in Ubuntu. On a contrary, Windows versions work like a charm, faster in VM than native Linux binaries. The last issue is that temperature monitor and test system are not working because they cannot seem to find USB blaster.. (but Programmer works well). I can live with that setup for a while.
