Why is Quartus Prime so s-l-o-w to start up?

Lite edition, both 19.1 on my desktop (I7 CPU, 16 gig RAM) and 18.1 my laptop (i5 CPU, 8 gig RAM), it takes 15 minutes or more for Quartus Prime to start up. That seems ridiculous. Is there some way to speed that up?

    Yes, something else is probably interfering. Does it do that even immediately after a reboot? Worst case, try uninstalling and reinstalling Quartus.

    Hi Alan,

    May I know what OS version are you using? Is there any heavy background process(s) running?

    It could be lot of programs and processes running in the background result in slow machine. Kill the unnecessary and heavy background process and let me know if it works.
