Forum Discussion
I make a comparison between this case and the previous one:
Table 1:
https://community.altera.com/discussions/quartus-prime/highlight-similar-instances-of-a-selected-word-fails-when-scrolling/337284/replies/350951
Aspect
Your Original Issue (selection jump & mass deletion risk)
Find Box state
Closed with non‑empty search term left in it
Trigger
After closing Find, start selecting (click‑hold‑scroll) or scroll with wheel
Observed behavior
Scroll re-selects previous Find term- Click‑hold‑scroll selection can jump to top (unintended large selection) → risk of mass deletion
Table 2:
https://community.altera.com/discussions/quartus-prime/when-you-double-click-on-a-word-the-other-instances-do-not-highlight-due-to-the-/351004
Aspect
New Steps (double-click doesn’t highlight when Find is open & empty)
Find Box state
Open and empty
Trigger
Double‑click a word expecting “highlight all instances”
Observed behavior
Double‑clicking a word does not highlight other instances while Find box is still open- Once Find is closed, highlight‑all behavior returns.
Let me know if this is incorrect, can you also send us the video for this issue?
Please note that I have reported the table 1 bug to engineering to fix it.
Thanks, Kenny
