I am VERY new to linux but a long time user of Quartus under Windows. So, please be kind to this Old Dog learning a new trick!
After some thrash I got SUSE linux installed on a machine and was then able to download and install the new beta of Q2 9.1 web edition. I also installed the nios2eds and modelsim. I pointed all three applications to the same directory and they look to be there just fine. Q2 opens and runs to the extent I've tested it (simple design compiles). Now I'm trying to stick a simple NIOS into the design and am having troubles. When I open SOPC builder in the Windows tools I normally see where I can add the NIOS core to the design. In linux the NIOS core doesn't show up in the SOPC builder window. I'm sure it's simple to connect quartus, SOPC builder and NIOS together but I really don't have a clue where to even begin. Has anyone out there gotten these new beta tools loaded and working together? Thanks -- OD
