Using ModelSIM Simulator for Quartus Simulator

I have been creating a vector waveform file and simulating to get timing results in Quartus 9.0. Now i have installed Quartus 10.1 and there is no simulator.

Please let me know how to use Model Sim Starter to do timing simulations ??? I have installed ModelSIM-altera starter 6.6c.

I want to do timing simulation for a block which i made with clock input and a set of outputs. I want to see the output waveforms with respect to the input clock.

Please help.

Thanks

Santhosh

Thanks for the reply. But am pretty new to ModelSIM. Please let me know if there is any screenshot driven resource for the simulator.

I am finding vague references of how to add an EDA tool, not its not clear.

I have a Quartus project compiled successfully. Please help me move on from here.

    INPUT is a clk - 20mhz

OUTPUT is count[10..0] and two other clock outputs.

As am in the middle of another project am not able to research more on ModelSIM basics. Please help !

Why don't you continue using Quartus 9.0 for the simulation?

We recently wanted to use NIOS II, so i had to change to 10.1 as i could not find a NIOS II 9.0 IDE for download.

Moreover i found that NIOS II economy processor seems to have become free only from 9.1 version of Quartus.

    Thats why had to change.

It would be a handfull of i can learn how to give a simulated input signal to the design using modelsim and see the output waveforms.

    thanks
