Honored ContributorI just installed Quartus 13.1 and the 13.1.1 update. The system-console gets the error:
$ system-console Cannot load library: 'C:/altera/13.1/quartus/bin\jre\bin\client\jvm.dll' If I try it from quartus or from qsys I get the same error. I also have an installation of 13.0 which works fine. Has anyone seen this problem? Any info on fixing it? Thanks.
Honored ContributorI know of someone else who had this problem, although it was with a beta version. I believe they got around it by copying $QUARTUS_ROOTDIR/bin/jre/bin/MSVCR71.DLL to $QUARTUS_ROOTDIR/bin/MSVCR71.DLL.
Whether this works or not, please file an SR on mysupport, as I want Altera to know more than one person has this problem. Also reference the previous SR 10996937. (It's someone else's so you won't be able to look at it, but the fix was what I just mentioned above.)Honored ContributorRysc,
Thank you for your help. Copying the MSVCR71.dll file fixed the problem. Sorry, but I'm not able to send an SR. The Altera support says I don't have a valid email address (but it is correct). I have the web edition of the software, so I'm probably not entitled to support anyway.Honored ContributorThanks. I'll file one and say this fixed it. Honored ContributorAhh, stupid question but where has system console gone in Quartus 13.1? It was Tools-> System Console -> System Console :confused::confused:
Honored ContributorI don't know about 13.1.1, but in 11.1 it is hidden in SOPC builder or QSys, you can't call it directly from Quartus.
Alternatively you can find the binary yourself. In 11.1 it is in C:\altera\11.1\quartus\sopc_builder\bin\system-console.exe , but they may have move it in a qsys folder in more recent versions of Quartus.Honored ContributorThanks Daixiwen!
