SigTap changes V7.0 to V9.1 for QII-Web

I have a design done with QII-Web V7.0 that needs to be updated. I no longer have the V7 license so cannot compile the project.

With V9.1 compile is ok, but the Signal Tap appears to have changed - so the question:

How do I update the SignalTap file? Do I have to create as new or is there an auto-update that can perform the task?

On another point, is there a new licence available for the V7.0? I tried to submit a Service Request but that no longer works so I can't request a licence.

Thanks to all

    Hi,

re-run the project with the new version and all should be fine.

    Kind regards

Thx for response, but do not understand 're-run the project with the new version and all should be fine.'

When I compile 9.1 w/o SigTap all is ok.

But when I enable the SigTap, and reference the previous STP file I get failure:

Error: Can't compile project with SignalTap II instance "sld_signaltap:auto_signaltap_0" in unsupported SignalTap II version 5. Current SignalTap is version 6.

So what do I need to do? Do I need to re-enter the SignalTap data from scratch?

I seem to remember that a 'Talk Back' had to be enabled for the free version but don't remember where the option was or if still required. Is this the problem?

    Hi,

re-open your signaltap file in the new version. There should pop-up a warning that the file is generated by an older version of Quartus. Save the file and all should be ok.

Sorry for forgetting that you have to open the signaltap file.

    Kind regards

    Thanks to all,

Nothing seemed to work for V9x so I got a re-licence from Altera for V7.0 which was the original design. Now all features working.

    Problem resolved for the moment.
