Serial Lite IV - Rx Simulation Issues

    Thank you for the update.


    For your reference, I tested the example design simulation using the default configuration and observed a runtime of approximately one hour or more, which is consistent with what you reported.


    I also performed additional testing by removing one of the fast simulation parameters (+define+IP7581SERDES_UX_SIMSPEED) and observed a longer simulation time. Based on these results, the simulation duration you are seeing appears to be expected behavior for the provided example design.

Thanks for your update.

It would be worth passing this feedback on to the design team to see whether these figures can be improved. After all, this is the paid version of Questa, and spending around 1.5 hours just to get the IP linking up places a significant burden on development iterations and bug fixing in the actual application I’m developing.

Unfortunately, this is not a cost I can afford in terms of development time. As a result, I’ll have to resort to writing my own BFM for this IP instead.

I hope this feedback can be taken into consideration, as improving this aspect would make a meaningful difference to the development experience.
