quatus II standalone?

Quartus II standalone or be it with other software. (synplify,...)

    Hi sonaj,

    depends on what you are trying to achieve. I would start with Quartus standalone.

    Quartus offers all tools you need:

    1. A quite good synthesis engine

    2. A RTL viever

    3. Technology viewer ....

    and is compared to the third party tools cheap. With tools like SynplifyPro you maybe get better synthesis result, but that is not always required.

    I would really say Quartus is standalone. We usually find that Quartus' integrated synthesis performs as good or better than synplify.
