Honored ContributorI tried to install Quartus II V10.0 web edition on several computers with Windows XP SP3 without any success.
1/ On Czech Windows, no drive space errors appeared (0 bytes on a drive with free 25 GB). This error was already described in Altera forum. 2/ On genuine English Windows, the installer ran for some time, but no functional software was installed. 3/ I wrote batch file for 'altera_installer_cmd.exe' according to the recommendations presented in this discussion group. Success, but only for a first glance, after starting Quartus II, I found out that no devices were available. 4/ I tried to correct installation error by adding Cyclone II with the aid of "Modify Altera Complete Design Suite 10.0" shortcut in Altera program group. The installer informed me that Cyclone II that I needed was present as a default option (grey inactive option), so it was impossible to remove Cyclone II and add it again for forcing its reinstallation. 5/ I tried to add missing Cyclone II from cycloneii.qda by Quartus shell command, but I found out that the shell was not also installed completely, so the command was unavailable. 6/ I returned to Quartus V9.1 ** So my question**: When do you expect the release of new Windows installer for Quartus II 10.0 web edition V10? :)
