Quartus (v7.0) won't support OLD 7000 devices???

HI All,

I'm using Quartus II, v7.0, and don't see any device options to select the basic "7000" series chips anymore.

I can only select 7000S, AE or B series, but not a plain 7000.

Is there something i should be doing, so i can still create projects for all my EPM7032, 7064 (plcc 44 pin) chips?

or, do i need to go and download an older verison of quartus or Max+II software to support my old chips ?

Thanx in advance.

    You are doing nothing wrong.

The older "plain" family is no longer a focus product, entering it twilight years.

Altera does not encourage new design starts with this family.

You will need to get a prior vintage of their tool to target that part.

I found a partial cure, by downloading the MAX+II v10.20 software.

It covers most of the 7xxx chips i have here, except the 7128 (which is probably the one i favoured to use), but i can now program the 7032/7064's etc.

It's one thing for Altera to suggest "not for new designs" but it's another thing for me to use 100's of chips i have here, rather than burn $1000's ordering current models ;-)
