I am a lab assistant at the university of Huddersfield, and I used the 20.1 lite edition to do that but having problem using 21.1 lite edition to accomplish it. keeps given an error

Regular ContributorWell, as of v21.1 Quartus switched to using the Questa simulator, the big brother as it were to Modelsim.
Modelsim per se is deprecated. Likely a new license needs to be issued to use Questa, your old Modelsim license won't work.
If you want/need to use Modelsim you must use v20.1 Quartus or earlier.
