Forum Discussion
Hello,
Welcome to the INTEL forum. Based on my understanding, WSL2 networking performance might not be as optimized as running directly on the host OS or within a virtual machine like VirtualBox. Performance issues could potentially affect the license retrieval process. There could be a few potential reasons for this:
- WSL2 Networking Configuration: Ensure that WSL2 networking is configured properly to access resources on your network, including the license server. Sometimes, WSL2 networking requires additional configuration to work seamlessly with VPNs.
- VPN Configuration: Double-check your Cisco VPN configuration to ensure that it's properly configured to allow traffic to the license server. Sometimes, VPNs can have restrictive settings that block certain types of traffic or connections.
- Firewall Settings: Check both your local firewall settings and any network firewalls to ensure that they're not blocking the connection to the license server. Sometimes, firewalls can inadvertently block traffic even when connected to a VPN.
- DNS Resolution: Ensure that DNS resolution is working properly within WSL2. Sometimes, DNS resolution can be affected by VPN connections. You may need to configure custom DNS settings within WSL2 to ensure that it can resolve the hostname of the license server.
Verify that the license server is configured to accept connections from your VPN subnet. If it's configured to only allow connections from specific IP ranges, you'll need to ensure that your VPN-assigned IP address falls within those ranges.
Lastly, check the logs or diagnostic messages from Quartus Prime, WSL2, and the VPN client for any error messages or warnings that might indicate what's going wrong during the license retrieval process.
