Quartus II will not complete install Have tried 7 times.

Hello all,

Recently I received my DE0 Nano board and am thrilled to get up and running with it. Only I am having a huge issue with the Quartus II software. For whatever reason it will not complete an installation. I have tried 3 versions of the software, versions 10, 11, and 13. My first three attempts were all versions of the default provided file, which I believe is version 13. What happens is that when the installation starts and tracks progress it never completes past 99%. It just remains there, stuck. I can expand/collapse the family device selection tool and click/drag the menu. I have yet to get a "Did not respond" error so that tells me that the installer is running by not completing or closing out the installation. Currently I am in the middle of my eighth attempt at installing. Some relevant information...Windows 7 64-bit, no active anti-virus or firewall during install (not that I think that would interfer with the install since it's already downloaded). So I am really at a loss for what to do about actually getting the software up and running. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I use Win7 x64, and have never had any problems installing the various versions of Quartus II. It does take quite a long time.

I've also never had a problem Win7 x64 installation. It's probably something peculiar about your PC.

Other than doing all the obvious things ( anti-virus, firewall, run as Administrator, reboot and don't start any other programs, etc. etc. etc.), if worst comes to worst, install it in a virtual machine.

Have you tried uninstalling all the previous QII versions and delete everything related to the software before re-installing again?
