quartus II mapping issue

during the Quartus II 11.0 "Analysis & synthesis" it also does mapping. how can it be stopped at the synthesis stage itself i.e. no mapping. it will be great help if anybody can help me out in this. ...

There's Processing -> Start -> Analysis & Elaboration. I use that to make a quick hierarchy. Quartus 11.1, which is out in a few weeks, will have a new feature called Elaborate Hierarchy that is supposed to be even faster.
