If your OS is Windows XP, did you try to enable the windows /3GB switch in windows boot.ini?

default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT="????" /3GB
