    I had the same problem with nios2-ide 9.0 on win7 32bit.

You may run compiling by following actions:

right-click on your project in NiosII C++ Projects..

then select Run As -> NiosII Hardware

    compilation starts...

but this way you can only run you projects, but you couldn't debug and set breakpoints...

P.S. Reinstalation not helps me, so now i run nios2-ide under linux(

I am too facing the same problem (10.1sp1, win7)

I am not able use "Run As -> Nios II Hardware" but able to do the same from command shell as suggested elsewhere in this forum.

Looks like the IDE is buggy in 10.1sp1 too.

After reapplying 10.1sp1 for Nios II am able to "Run As -> Nios II Hardware".

No more "no nios ii target connection paths were located. check connections and that a nios ii .sof is downloaded" error messages.

But things are slower than in the command shell!

    Thanks

The solution to the problem (in my case) was to run the Eclipse (eclipse-nios2.exe) in windows compatibility mode (Windows Vista SP2).

    Kind regards,
