ModelSim - How does delta relate to FPGA performance, if at all?

Hi, I have a design that when simulated certain processes will cause ModelSim's delta to go alarmingly high(~80). I was wondering how this would relate to performance on an FPGA? Should I be concerned? This is my first time working with a design this large so any help would be greatly appreciated! TY
