HI I am trying generate Altera PLL 13.1 Megafunction (when trying either 64 bit Quartus Version 13.1 - Windows XP Professional 64 bit Service pack 2 or 32 bit Quartus version 13.1 - - Windows XP professional - Service pack 3) The generation gets as far as >info : Generating simgen model >Error: Execution of script C:...../Temp/alt6029_789481781428619152.dir/0002_pll_replace_gen/proj.tcl failed >Error:Error starting the process ([and,Settings/flong/Local, Settings/Temp/alt6029_789481781428619152.dir/0002_pll_replace_gen, C:/altera/13/1/bin//quartus_sh -t, run_simgen_cmd.tcl]). Cannot run program "and" (in the directory "C:\Documents"): CreateProcess error=2, the system cannot find the file specified Can anyone shed any light on this error for me please. Fionbarra

It looks to me like something went wrong with the spaces in the path where you built the project. Notice the "C:\Documents" ... and,Settings/ ... Try moving your project to a path where none of the containing folders have spaces in their names?

Some Megawizard functions are written in - dunno - C or C++, others in Java. The latter ones sometimes are sensitive to spaces in the path. Try it, you won't be disapponted. Off-topic: today I tried to build a MinGW C application with an "_" in its project name. Wouldn't compile. Tried without the "_" in the name, no problem. Sigh... Best regards, Ben

The path to TMP was C:\Documents and Settings\etc..\Local Settings\Temp This PATH must be called by the program run to generate the simgen model. Regards Fionbarra

I got the same Problem, with Version 14.0 as mentioned in the Thread http://www.alteraforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46673
I tried to fix this with changing the environment variables without success.

When I enable Compatibilty Mode for Win 7 i got:

[14736 Error: Wizard "Altere PLL v14.0" cannot be launched]

and a Error Log File :

[A Fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment ...]

When running in normal Mode on my Win 8.1 machine i got no error log or massage, thats what i mentioned in the other Thread.

I deinstalled the Altera Software and alle Java Applications (Java + SDK) and start a new try with the latest Release but there was no improvement. I changed the jre64 installation with the actual java runtime but that also doesnt work.

I hope that someone got a solution for this Bug!

Hi,

It's interesting fact that I can build other IPs from Megawizard (for example NCO), but PLL is simply not building right. Is there any new advice I could follow? Please help :)
