14 years agoYou can have Quartus installed on a development machine, and the jtag server installed on your 'hardware' machine, i.e., the machine with the USB-Blaster attached to it.
If the 'hardware' machine is not an x86 processor, then jtagserver cannot be used. If however the 'hardware' machine runs Linux, then you can export the USB-Blaster via usb-over-IP. For example, I've tested this scheme using a PowerPC processor with a USB-Blaster attached to its USB interface, and then programmed an Altera device from my x86 laptop. Cheers, Dave
