I used CycloneIII device and QuartusII8.1,why not generate .pof file?

I used CycloneIII device and QuartusII8.1.

After compiling,generate .sof file,but why not generate .pof file?

    For generating a .pof-file open your project Quartus and select File > convert programming file. Make the right settings and you'll have a pof-file in a split second.

    if you are using any Altera IP in Open Core Plus mode you cannot generate a .pof
