I have a linux installation of questa intel starter edition-64 2021.2 and I have a licensing problem

I've run into an issue with my intel questasim installation. When I run 'vsim' in my linux command line I receive an error message "Unable to checkout a viewer license necessary for use of the Questa Intel Starter FPGA Edition graphical user interface. Vsim is closing.". The questasim GUI opens, but it also displays error messages: "License Issue: Invalid host. (~/license.dat)", "Error: Failure to checkout 'intelqsimstarter' license feature". My installation was working fine with my license up until today. Do you have any troubleshooting suggestions? Should I just try generating a new license file?

    Hello

Welcome to INTEL forum. Could you help to regenerate again a new license.dat file in SSLC and try the new generate license, see how things go. To acquire the free license for Questa Sim Starter Edition, you can request it through SSLC by following these steps.

    https://licensing.intel.com/

    1) Go to “Sign up for Evaluation or No-Cost licenses”

    2) Select Questa*-Intel® FPGA Starter Edition (SW-QUESTA)

    3) # of Seats is always 1

    4) Check the T&C box

    5) Create Computer *license type “FLOAT”

    5) Click “Generate” button

The license will be sent to email that you register with

For more Refer the steps here, Guide to generate license file.
