Flex Device - not available

Right guys, wonder if you oldies can help me.

I have two legacy max+plus 2 projects from circa 1999. I have imported them both into quartus 9 (for the flex support). But, for one of them I cannot find the device I need: EPF10K50EQC240-1

The other project has the device imported correctly via the "other" radial button in the device assignment menu.

Would I be safe building the project for a EPF10K50SQC240-1?

    you can actually successfully compile projects for devices which do not show up in the Quartus GUI by manually entering the device in the .qsf

    have you given in a whirl?

    That occured to me after I posted this actually. I copied and pasted from the other project.

    Now I have to just have to get over some compile errors (isnt it great when you have to load up max+plus2?)

    honestly i have never used MAX+PLUS II, but i always notice a glow in people's eyes when they talk about it
