Error: Failed to refresh PTF file

Hi. I'm running a simple test system on SOPC and when I hit "generate" the system always fails during the process:

Info: Starting PTF file elaboration.

Error: Failed to refresh PTF file

Info: Finished elaborating PTF file.

Executing: C:/altera/91sp2/quartus//sopc_builder/bin/sopc_builder --classic --generate C:/My_Designs/jataas/yuyut.ptf

Info: Starting generation...

Error: System generation failed.

I've tried to debug this with new installations and system restores as well as looking at registry (somewhat) but to no avail..

I'm running xp on win32..

Does anyone have recommendations?

    I've seen these sorts of issues when write access is forbidden either on a directory or file basis. Do you have any other stray processes running that could be "using" the PTF file? Is it possible that you have permissions issues? Is your PTF file stuck in a locked state?

    If the answer to the last question is yes, then take a look at FileASSASSIN. It's worked well for me in the past.
